beavers in may
29th May 2009 (09:30:08) by Dave

Throughout May, Beaver Design has been working on a variety of different projects. With our web team, we have been developing a number of sites to go live in June, as well as completing web design work for Lefa Print and Chigwell Construction.
Our very own Dave Suter has written an article for the local Axis Magazine, looking at brand identity and how important it is to have a design which works throughout your business (you can download it here).
We’ve also been busy with some photography for market research. The images we’ve taken will be used to develop concepts for a well-known brand on your supermarket shelf.
Going and growing
The second HBI Business Expo is approaching on the 24th June at The Galleria, Hatfield. Beaver Design will be there again to demonstrate our services and what a difference it makes to chose Beaver. The last HBI event was a huge success and this one in June will be well worth attending – so come on down!
And finally, Beaver Design has a new position available. We’re looking for a web developer to join our growing Beaver team. If you or someone you know is interested, then please get in touch!
disney design & menu salvations

The Beaver Group has been busy over the last few weeks creating digital signage content and digital menu board promotions for Showcase Cinemas.
Every week, new movies are released and shown throughout the country’s cinemas and each week, new posters are needed to promote these current and upcoming movie releases. For Showcase Cinemas, this means digital posters – since throughout their Bristol, Leicester, Derby and Nottingham venues, they are using a complete digital signage system provided by Beaver Group.
The artwork comes direct from the movie distributors to Beaver Group, where we edit, animate and create the digital signage posters for Showcase Cinemas. This is for a variety of different movies, since more than just one poster can be shown on the same screen. Beaver create the posters for small movies, as well as the big films from Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Disney and others.
Digital menu boards
Beaver Group also creates new promotions for the concession stand menu boards to tie in with current movie releases. Recently, this has been in the form of promotional content to tie in with Terminator Salvation and the Ron Howard thriller, Angels & Demons.
By using digital menu boards, Showcase Cinemas has the ability to run various well-timed promotions and generate sales uplift for their concession items. As soon as the movie stops showing at the cinema, the standard promotional content can resume at the click of a button – meaning relevant promotions for maximum impact.

more cinematic digital signage for showcase
13th May 2009 (10:13:16) by Robin

Our award winning work for Showcase Cinemas continues and Beaver Solutions, part of the Beaver Group, has recently outfitted Showcase Cinemas' venue in Nottingham with new digital menu boards.
The new digital signage was chosen to go in after the success of the digital menus (as well as box office screens and digital posters) at the three Cinema de Lux venues in Bristol, Derby and Leicester. A custom built menu board rig has replaced their traditional static menus and is suspended over the concessions stand.
At the UK Nottingham venue, Beaver project managed, designed and completely outfitted this digital signage solution. Newly designed content was also designed by Beaver, specific for this Nottingham site. Beaver installed the whole menu board rig overnight, ready for the next day, meaning the minimum of disruption.
These additional screens are part of Showcase Cinemas’ expandable digital signage network and give Showcase the ability to promote, change prices, change items and efficiently run their menu boards.

CRB get the whole package

The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) is an Executive Agency of the Home Office, set-up to help organisations make safer recruitment decisions. At the CRB head office in Liverpool, Beaver Solutions, part of the Beaver Group, provided a complete system with content design for their internal digital signage.
The CRB wanted to increase communication with the ability to post news and information for all the staff based at their two Liverpool locations and chose digital signage to support the other methods of intranet, emails and notice boards.
The solution uses the latest release of Scala5 (release 4 - Jan2009), distributed to the screens throughout the building. As well as the system installation and integration, Beaver designed content templates, which are populated with information from the CRB, as well as external sources.
This was achieved by integrating with the web services of the Scala software, allowing a variety of web-based sources to be delivered through the system, such as BBC News RSS feeds and network data. As well as this, the system also delivers live TV, which is integrated into the content schedule. All of this is controllable through a web interface, designed by Beaver.
By using fully featured software, well designed content and a completely integrated system, the CRB have an expandable and effective communication network throughout their offices.
