Hanover Housing with essential Digital Signage

Beaver Solutions recently provided a Resident Information System for national retirement housing provider Hanover, at two of the organisation’s newest retirement housing estates in Scunthorpe and South Shields. Designed deliver essential up-to-date news and information, the digital displays are an integrated part of the retirement homes and an important part of daily life for the residents.

The screens are kept up-to-date by the staff as well as via live news feeds and the residents rely on them as an essential source of information, which helps better inform their daily decisions.

Essential Information

Many of the residents do not own, or choose not to use, a computer – meaning that information doesn’t always reach them through traditional channels. Via the screens, residents are now able to receive up-to-date information as they move through the building and, rather than a cluttered message board, digital screens provide a simple and tidy solution.

The screens are located in busy areas, such as the reception lobby and restaurant, ensuring that residents have easy access to timely information throughout the day. Residents can read live news feeds from the BBC, local weather announcements, information about upcoming events, bus timetables and other custom content from the Hanover staff.

Easy to Use

For the housing staff, the system is easy to maintain and update with new content. Using the latest release of Scala5 software, housing staff are also able to amend or add their own content whenever needed, via a simple web interface.

“The screens are essential for many of the residents and are a valuable source of information. With the Scala system, it’s easy for Hanover staff to update the screens with relevant information, adding to the quality of daily life of the residents. It’s a great addition to our housing and is working very well.” - Tom Brown, Head of Operations Extra Care North, Hanover Housing

a flagship for onboard communications

Seamless Messages

Beaver Solutions (part of Beaver Group) today announces the completion of a comprehensive project for the new luxury liner ‘Azura’ from P&O Cruises. Designed to deliver visually engaging and targeted messages whilst passengers are onboard, the network informs, entertains and communicates using screens which are integrated into the ship design.

Beaver were well suited for this project, having provided similar installations for other P&O cruise liners in the past, such as the Oriana, Aurora and Arcadia. The new Azura liner is a huge 3,100 passenger ship, which is nearly 300 metres long with 19 decks. It is best described as a luxurious ‘floating resort hotel’, with a wide range of activities, venues and shops for the passengers.

SEAMLESS MESSAGES

In the reception, in shops and throughout the liner, all the screens display information which is relevant to the location, as well as promoting the many services and activities onboard.

Passengers can also find out the liner’s location, local weather and important news announcements from live, up-to-date maps on the screens. And in the luxury ‘Planet Bar’ are several 103” Plasma screens, displaying ambient and scenic views for the guest. The mood and purpose of the screens onboard is always a reflection of the situation and location they are in, helping to further integrate them into the onboard experience.

Part of the onboard experience

Above the pool on deck 16 is the 8.2m LED ‘Seascreen’. This large screen is used for group video games (such as Wii Sports), playing video while passengers enjoy the pool and the unique experience of ‘Stars Under The Stars’ – when at night, deck 16 becomes a movie theatre under the night sky.

PART OF THE ONBOARD EXPERIENCE

For this project, Beaver Solutions uses the latest release of Scala to design, manage and deliver the content across the liner. The content was developed by Beaver following the Azura brand, ensuring that the designs fit with the rest of Azura and P&O Cruises.

“This is an excellent example of a large and well planned project. We’re very pleased with the outcome, as so often screens can be added as an afterthought. However with this project, it’s clear that the screens and the content are part of the new liner, adding to the holiday experience of the guests onboard.” – Barry Thurston, Group Chairman – Beaver Group

beaver group: healing the world [cup sickness]

World Cup Sickness

It has been reported that with the World Cup coming up, some employees are considering not going into work and instead, calling in sick. This would obviously mean lost revenue and disrupted work for many businesses.

But there is a cure to this potential plague of World Cup sickness!

As one employer says in the report, a screen network throughout the building will mean that staff can watch the games while at work.

A number of our other clients already do this, integrating it into their corporate communication strategy at the beginning of the year, ensuring that they show the big games and other events across their UK sites via their digital signage network.

Showing big events such as these means people are happier to come into work, knowing they can watch the game with their colleagues.

So don’t let the possible epidemic of World Cup sickness affect your business, call Beaver for the cure!

Cinema City content design from Beaver Group

Beaver Solutions (part of the Beaver Group) has recently finished a project for Cinema City International, delivering a complete and single-sourced digital menu board and print design service. Beaver Solutions is uniquely placed to provide quality digital menu board content development and traditional print designs, from one agency.

With this exciting project we are providing content to six countries throughout Europe and Israel, improving the promotion of Cinema City’s concessions, increasing sales and saving money on wastage. The digital and print menus work in harmony with a coherent design throughout, promotions are quicker and prices can be changed whenever needed.

UNIFIED DESIGN, FROM ONE AGENCY

Beaver have over 30 years experience in print design and 15 years developing digital signage content. Cinema City also benefitted from the specific menu board expertise of sister company, Signature Digital Menus.

Beaver shot specific high definition video content for use on the digital menu boards, and developed a stylish and elegant design which communicates the concessions available in each of the cinemas located in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, in the local languages. Where changes are required, these can be implemented throughout their signage (both print and digital). The solution was quick and dynamic, due in no small part to the fact that the print and digital teams work from the same offices.

Cinema City content design by Beaver Group

"The content and video production by Beaver Solutions is excellent. We’ve had a lot of good feedback from our customers and we’re noticing a significant uplift in sales. The design work from Beaver Solutions has really made a difference.”

– Alon Zohar, Food and Beverages Director, Cinema City International NV

THE FUTURE

Ongoing price changes and additional items are also being managed by Beaver Solutions, continuing to deliver increased sales and reduced costs.

Cinema City International is the largest operator of multiplex cinemas in Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Israel, with more than 70 multiplex cinemas in six countries. In the next 6-12 months, there are plans to roll out the new designs to additional countries, including Israel.

Delivering quality design services, Beaver Solutions are pretty pumped to be providing Cinema City International with unified digital signage and print content throughout their cinemas.
